Anand Chess Academy in Trivandrum organizes the most awaited 6th ACA All India (FIDE rated) Open Chess Tournament from 27th to 29th December 2013.  This event is happening at Technopark, the IT hub of the state of Kerala. Total prize fund announced for the tournament is Rs. 100,000/-.

The chess tournament started with inauguration, registration and players meeting at 8 am in the Technopark club hall.  Round one of the tournament started at 1 pm while round two was in progress at 3 pm.  The entire event will thus take place accordingly on Saturday and Sunday, 28th and 29th Dec’13 respectively depending on the progress of the on- going game.


The eligibility criteria for participating in the All India (FIDE rated) Open Chess Tournament is laid down by the academy. It allows unrated players and players whose FIDE standard rating is below 1600 to participate in the tournament with ease.   The tournament is open to all age groups irrespective of all age and gender. Moreover, the tournament is played under FIDE's Laws of Chess and the Swiss System.


Anand Chess Academy is a renowned chess organization in Kerala that has been involved in encouraging youths to take up this interesting game of chess. Over the years it has been managing several top rated tournaments across the country to provide platforms for fresh talents in this indoor game. 


This year the academy has chosen, Trivandrum city’s Technopark, Kerala. Technopark Club which is the tournament venue is conveniently located within 14 KMs from Trivandrum Central Railway Station and 15 KMs from Trivandrum Domestic Airport. It is easily reached from any part of the city by public transport.


Technopark is a place which is enclosed in a grand ambience. Spread over nearly 300 acres with 4 million sq. ft. of space Technopark is one of the favorite places of most of the locals and visitors alike.
